Yoga Is the Way
I've been a bit stressed. I mean, I didn't feel THAT stressed, because nothing too major is happening (aside from a change in my writing niche, another move in two weeks and friend issues). My body, on the other hand, has been letting me know that something isn't right. My neck muscles were tense, my low back was tight and my psoriasis came back in full effect. So, I knew it was time to do something different. Last week, instead of my hard-core Tae-Bo and weight training, I went walking and practiced yoga. I found a fabulous book to help with the muscle tension - Yoga Heals Your Back. It's awesome! 10-minute sessions with a different focus are featured throughout, including strength sessions for your abs, butt, and thighs. My body is so much happier with me now! I feel taller and my body feels more at peace.Add to that an amazing massage from Arti at AG Massage on NW 5th. If you're looking for quality, therapeutic work - he's the guy to go to. I've had NMT (neuromuscular therapy) in the past and was thrilled to find another NMT in Portland. Arti is professional and intuitive. Best of all, he's patient with the stubborn knots in my back.
So, despite the additional stress, I'm doing everything I can to keep my body relaxed and happy.
Have any ideas on great ways to care for your body?
Do tell!
